Taste of Nation Announces Plans for 2008 Even
Taste of the Nation Toledo 2008 kicked off its Ambassador program at Dean and Becky Kasperzaks home on January 24. This party gets the crowd excited to go out and sell tickets to the April 27, 2008 event at Cousino’s Navy Bistro beginning at 5pm.
The Bridges Band will provide entertainment after everyone has a taste of the almost 40 participating restaurants, wine distributors, beer and alcohol distributors. This is Toledo’s premier food and wine event and only 500 tickets are sold and the event is always filled over a month before the event! This year’s visiting chefs are Michael Simon and Michael Mina.
The 2008 Co-Chairs are Labib Hajjar, Marla Schecht, Terri Thompson and Moussa Salloukh, the newest chair who is also the co-owner of Toledo’s newest hot spot La Scola.
The 2008 Honorary Chairs are Tom McHugh of Heidelberg Distributing, Gary Marck of ITI and Diane Larson of 13 ABC News and the grant recipients were introduced and representatives explained how the money raised supports their programming: Toledo Day Nursery - Pat Scheuer, Toledo Grows - Mike Szuberla, Denise Fox - Aurora Project and James Caldwell - Toledo NWO Foodbank.
Mindy Romanoff explained the exciting plans for this year’s upcoming raffle. Toledo Furs and Joseph Licata Jewelers are already on board. Tickets are $50 each and will sell out when 300 are sold.
Ambassadors this year are Gus Mancy, Christi Ide, Terri Derosa, Andrea DeWood, David Joseph, Nikki Keller, Dennis and Judy Krout, Chris Paterwich, Corrinne Manera, Corrine Mann, Stephanie Judis, Carolyn Newell Turner, Mindy Romanoff, Pat Scheuer and Mark Rennels.
Committee Members for the event are Craig Joseph, Maggie O’Connell, Gene Powell, Christi Reagan, Kathy Rennels, Matt Rennels, Ty Szumigala, Claudia Vercellotti, Brian Lauber, Judi Grodi, Sue Hague-Roger, Sara Goodnough, Keith Brook, Tas Cousino, Connie Feldstein, Jim Cameron and Chuck Mira.
